About us

Welcome to All-Ireland Mahjong.

We are a community of players across Ireland who come together to enjoy and promote Mahjong in a friendly, fair, and inclusive way. We currently play and organise regular Riichi Mahjong games in Cork, Dublin, and Belfast, and we actively connect players from across the island.

Our aim is simple: to support Mahjong as a social, strategic, and enjoyable game, and to help build a connected Mahjong community throughout Ireland.

What we play

All-Ireland Mahjong actively plays and supports Japanese Riichi Mahjong.

We also recognise and support Mahjong Competition Rules (MCR), although we do not currently have an active MCR player base. At present, our activities focus exclusively on Riichi Mahjong and MCR.

We do not organise or support other rulesets, including American (NMJL) Mah-jongg, solitaire Mahjong, Hong Kong, Taiwanese, or other regional variants.

Join the community

Whether you’re an experienced player or completely new to Mahjong, you’re very welcome.

If you get in touch with us, we’ll be happy to invite you to our meetups, teaching sessions, and regular game nights. Many of our members learned their first game through the community, and we place a strong emphasis on learning, respect, and enjoyment at the table.
